Launch of London Short Story Prize 2018 Anthology

The launch of the 2018 London Short Story Prize Anthology was on the 25th of April 2019 at the Idea Store in Whitechapel. Organised by the amazing team at Spread the Word, Aliya Gulaimani and Bobby Nayar, it was an evening of readings and literary musings. All ten Long and short listed writers were there to read short excerpts from their stories as well as Guy Ware, the winner of this years competition.

The event was attended by judges Sarah Such and Claire Fisher and it was a delight to catch up with them after the readings to discuss all things literary.

I was delighted to join all the other writers included in the anthology to read an excerpt from my own short story ‘First Time Ever’. It’s a story about a little immigrant boy called Shiva, who has a head full of dreams.

Thank you to everyone at Spread the Word for putting together this wonderfully eye-catching pink and yellow anthology and I am delighted to have my story in it.
